INVITO 2020 LORIS CECCHINI
Acacia Award 2020
On the occasion of MIART and Art Week 2020 promoted by the Department of Culture of the City of Milan, Museo del Novecento presents INVITO 2020, the exhibition dedicated to the artist winner of the ACACIA - Associazione Amici Arte Contemporanea Italiana (Friends of Italian Contemporary Art Association) Award, organised in the rooms of the museum for the fifth year, thus consolidating the fruitful collaboration between public and private reality, with the common goal of preserving and deepening the study of the most recent artistic experiments.
In the 2020 edition, the seventeenth one, the protagonist is Loris Cecchini (Milan, 1969), one of the most internationally established Italian artists, with the works Waterbones (177) and Aeolian Landforms (Dahkla 137C), from 2020, that join the collection of the museum thanks to the generosity of ACACIA.
Loris Cecchini's recent work draws its nourishment from the meditation on the concept of "organism": a constantly evolving system that generates itself, basing its own growth starting from a module, as happens in architecture or in the analysis of language.
The artist's imagination, characterised by symbolic and self-poietic structures interacting with the surrounding space, is conveyed by a subtle research on materials, from rubber to plastics and metals.
