The Museo del Novecento presents the “New Arrivals. Highlights from the Bianca and Mario Bertolini’s Donation” exhibition, from 15 May through 1 November. The exhibition, promoted within the framework of art rendezvous of the Expo programme on schedule in Milan during the semester of the Expo Milano 2015, pays homage to one of the most significant donations to Milan civic collections that have grown over the years thanks to important private bequests.
The masterpieces donated by Mario Bertolini enrich the heritage of the Museo del Novecento with over 600 works by leading figures of Italian and international art from the 1960’s to the early nineties of the last century.
Mario Bertolini became interested in contemporary art in the sixties in Milan, visiting the most important art galleries in the city. It is then that a passion was born that led to nearly four decades of association with the world of international art and the growth of his collection.
With a selection of 120 works, the “New Arrivals” exhibition reconstructs the fundamental areas of the collection.
